About Us

Family Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentist &
Facial Aesthetics.

Abbey Dental Practice was founded in January 2001

by our principal dentist, Robert Handley BDS. His aim was to create a state of the art practice where the emphasis was on high quality dental care in a friendly environment. Designed without compromise the new building has hi tech equipment throughout and dental treatment rooms are air-conditioned for comfort.

The dental practice has established itself amongst the local community and now provides dental services to many patients in Cheshire and the surrounding areas.

We know as well as anyone that your smile is one of the most noticeable and memorable features of your face. That is why the dental team at Abbey Dental Practice work hard to provide you with the very best dental healthcare.

Our Family Dentistry Services

Dental hygienist in Cheshire

Hygienist

We work hard to help keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy.  This is important to help avoid gum disease, periodontal disease, and loss of teeth.  Our professional and experienced hygienists team are always on hand to help and provide further information and advice surrounding oral hygiene.

Gum care treatment and cleaning

Gum Care

If you suffer from long-term gum inflammation or gingivitis, it’s essential to contact us as soon as possible.  If left untreated over a long period, gum inflammation can lead to periodontal disease, which can lead to teeth becoming loose as the bone supporting the tooth is affected.  In such cases, you must get preventative treatment before teeth start falling out.

Implants

Looking for Dental implants? You could have lost one tooth, several teeth or all your natural teeth; this can affect your smile, your ability to eat your favourite foods, your self-esteem and your health.

Complete dental dentures

Dentures

Whether you've lost all of your teeth or just a single tooth, dentures can provide the perfect tooth replacement solution without being permanently fixed.  Made from acrylic or a mixture of acrylic and cobalt-chromium, dentures are functional, comfortable, and practical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to telephone the practice to book an appointment?

No there any many ways to book an appointment, you can book online on our website, send us an email or message us on Facebook.

How often should I brush my teeth and gums?

It is important that you brush last thing at night and at least one other time during the day, with a toothpaste containing fluoride. It is especially important to brush before bed. This is because of the flow of saliva, which is the mouth’s own cleaning system, slows down during the night and this leaves the mouth more at risk from decay.

What foods can cause tooth decay?

All sugars can cause decay. Sugar can come in many forms. Usually, ingredients ending in ‘ose’ are sugars, for example, sucrose, fructose and glucose are just three types. These sugars can all damage your teeth and leads to fillings or even extractions. Decay happens when sugar reacts with the bacteria in plaque. This forms the acids that attack the teeth and destroy the enamel.
